Sunday 21st November saw our Level 8 Elite Gymnasts head off to Milton Keynes to take part in the Level 8 IGA All-Around Competition.
All of our gymnasts did a great job and it was hard to believe that this was the first major competition that they had done in over 18 months and we are so proud of all of them!
Head Coach Stacey wanted to give a little extra mention to Leonie, who was extremely nervous beforehand but she went out and completely smashed it! Also to Ava B, was nervous about her walkover on the beam but she executed it so well despite the nerves.
We were so happy when Lyla R took Bronze on the Floor, as did Erin on the Vault. We also came away with a Gold Medal as Jess S scored 11.8 on the Vault. As well as walking away from meals but Lyla and Erin have qualified into Level 7, so will be competing in level 7 next year!!
Again a big shout out to all our Level 8 gymnastics Leonie, Lyla, Elise, Alice, Sophie, Ava, Jess, and Erin for an amazing day of competition. Their full results can be seen in the table at the bottom of this post.
We were back in Milton Keynes on Sunday 5th December for the Level 7 IGA Championships in the morning and the Level 4 and Level 5 Competition in the afternoon and it was an amazing day for the Star-Tastic gymnasts!
In all, we took home over 20 medals of different colours, which is a truly amazing result seeing as this was the first major competition in well over 20 months.
Our youngest gymnast competing on the day, Tallulah H, had a fantastic result with Gold on Bars, Beam and Floor, and also a Silver on Vault. Amelie in the 11 years category added to our medal haul with Gold on the Bars and Bronze on the Beam. Catherine on the 13th Years took home 3 medals: Bronze on Bars and Vault and Silver on the beam.
After the flurry of medals in the morning, we couldn’t believe it when our Level 4 and Level 5 gymnasts put on a stellar display as well.
Ella was competing in the 13 years Level 5 category and took a medal in each discipline – Gold on the Vault and Beam, Silver on Floor, and Bronze on the Bars.
Jane, one of our up-and-coming coaches but still loves to compete, took home Golds on the Beam and Floor and Silver on the vault and Tia made it a Star-Tastic Gold and Silver as she took second place on the beam behind Jane.
Jess M, competing in Level 4 rounded off our haul of medals by medalling on each piece of apparatus and took Gold on Floor, Vault and Bars, and Silver on the Beam.
These competitions aren’t all about winning medals but it is really nice to see the team spirit amongst the gymnasts and their parents. We love meeting at the hotel the day before for a meal and also the pre-competition breakfast where everyone is making sure that their hair looks perfect and that they are ready for the day of competition ahead.
See the scores from all the gymnasts below and well done to Iris, Jessica, Mylene, Savannah, Mae, Miya, and Catherine who were also competing in Level 7. Also to Grace in Level 5.
Again well done everyone we are super proud of you!
